About our clocks

Materials

Our expertise includes working in wood, metal, glass and engineering plastics.

WOOD
In our clock cases we only use European and North American hardwoods from renewable sources that are verifiable under the Forestry Stewardship Scheme. We are also life members of the British Woodland Trust and we fund the planting of a new tree for every one we use.

METAL
In our workshops we have facilities to work steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze, aluminium and lead. We cherish traditional skills in working these materials but also welcome new and groundbreaking techniques such as metal sintering in creating some of the components. At all times we endeavour to employ systems and techniques that have the lowest impact on the environment.

GLASS
We have our own glass workshop in which we bend and manipulate glass, creating unique shapes. For a number of years we have supplied the antiques restoration trade with one off pieces for the repair of furniture and clocks.

OTHER MATERIALS
Some of our clocks celebrate the latest thinking in engineering utilising carbon fibre and acetal composites, while others only use wood and brass.
